LNT Construction, part of the LNT Group and the largest new build care home provider in the UK, has guaranteed its continued growth through the unprecedented success of its acquisitions team. The team has already secured 16 sites, during the first half of 2010, with over 30 more sites, across the north of England and the Midlands, currently in negotiation. This represents a significant investment in the care home sector at a time when many companies are unable to develop due to the financial constraints imposed by the recession.
Following the receipt of funding packages worth almost £70 million in 2009, there remains a firm commitment to continue with this level of acquisitions to satisfy the demand for quality care homes in the UK.
LNT Construction, Development Director, Nick Broadbent said: “The acquisitions team has been incredibly successful due to its commitment to proactively seeking out potential new sites for development.
“We are currently in a position to submit at least two planning applications every month and our objective is to double this in 2011.”
LNT’s current construction programme provides approximately 20% of all new care home beds in the UK and as part of its on-going business plan,it is offering nine turn key developments to the market through Christie & Co.
Nick added: “Early interest in the developments offered through Christie & Co has been very strong and we are hoping to secure several sales over the next few weeks.”
The success of the LNT construction acquisitions team is underpinned by the company’s bespoke Big Map software system, brainchild of LNT Group Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson.
Big Map allows the team to assess land opportunities rapidly and in detail with supporting data (relating directly to the care home sector) which also outlines feasibility and funding.
LNT Group Chairman, Lawrence Tomlinson, concluded: “The growth of LNT Construction reflects the success of the whole of the LNT Group and with the growing demand for quality care homes I’m confident that we will continue to strengthen our position in the market.
