Our Management Team

Lawrence Tomlinson - Chairman, LNT Group
  Lawrence was sponsored through his engineering degree (1983–7) by Wellman Bibby Mechanical Power Transmission Limited, where he worked on various power transmission coupling projects and on specialist soft start powder couplings. Between 1987 and 1989 Lawrence worked on the graduate trainee programme at Holset Engineering, with special responsibility for the production of crankshaft damper prototypes. Lawrence then left the engineering industry to pursue a business career. From 1987 onwards he has set up and developed the LNT Group, which comprises several companies with commonality of ownership, now creating employment for around 800 people and planning to grow to around 1,700 employees by 2007. In June 2006, in the roles of both team owner and co-driver, Lawrence realised a lifelong ambition by steering the Team LNT Panoz Esperante to first place in the GT2 class in the Le Mans 24 hour race.
 
Richard Smith - Financial Director, LNT Group
  Richard began his professional career at Arthur Andersen, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, working in the Audit & Business Advisory and Corporate Finance Teams. The latter role involved advising both public and private clients on floats, mergers & acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs, take privates and public fundraising's. Richard left Andersens to join Asda where he initially worked within the Business Change team, which appraised the financial viability of new stores and extensions and carried out post audit assessments of completed schemes. This was followed by a move into the New Business department to lead the General Insurance team, with responsibility for the motor, home, travel and pet products. Richard left Asda to join LNT Group in September 2005.
 
Andrew Long - Development Director, LNT Group
  Andrew is a Chartered Surveyor with almost 25 years experience, who helped establish GLP in 1996. Originally from the North East, Andrew has experience throughout the UK and is one of the most recognized and respected consultants in the healthcare sector. Andrew has been instrumental in some of the largest deals in the healthcare market. Andrew now oversees GLP and Taylors as well as assisting with inter-group liaison and referral business.
 
Ian Wilkie - Group Managing Director, GLP Taylors
  Ian has over 20 years experience in the commercial property sector and is an accomplished manager. He began his career in Edinburgh, dealing with a wide range of commercial property. Ian spent four years working in London, heading the healthcare department for a national firm of surveyors and valuers before moving to Leeds in 1997. Ian has considerable experience in corporate healthcare business and he has advised on some of the largest transactions in the UK market.
 
Angus Houliston - Managing Director, LNT Construction
  Angus began his career as an engineer with Henry Boot and in his eight years there went on to become one of their youngest site agents working on various projects like BMW at Thorne and Connahs Quay power station . He then moved on to Wrekin Construction in Telford where he undertook a number of design and build projects on behalf of Anglian Water and Railtrack. Angus then became a Project Manager at Severfield Rowen where he spent eight years managing a number of complex projects including:
£35 million reconstruction of Broadway Plaza in Birmingham · Construction of Juxon House on behalf of Standard Life on a site next to St Paul’s Cathedral where a sympathetic build and precise logistics were required · Conversion of the former Westminster Hospital into luxury apartments · A key member of the project delivery team for BAA’s £400 million T5B new terminal project.
This team delivered T5B on time, budget and was considered a leading light in terms of safety management and ideas through out the whole of T5. Angus left Severfield Rowen to become Managing Director of LNT Construction in November 2005.
 
Martin Jones - Managing Director, CoolBlue Computing
  Martin began his career as a Cost and Management Accountant with the Kenning Motor Group in the late 1970's before moving into financial services in 1982 and becoming Area Manager, South Midlands Region for The Royal by 1984. The pull of his home town was too much and by 1986 Martin was heading up a group of financial advisors in Leeds which within 2 years would become the third largest provider of business to the Australian CMG Group in the UK. In 1992 he then moved into property development, management and sales whilst becoming a fully qualified I.F.A. 1999 saw Martin join the LNT Group as Sales and Marketing Director of CoolBlue computing, becoming Managing Director in 2000. CoolBlue provide the full range of IT solutions but major in software development for the long term care sector and are renown for CoolCare which is the UK's fastest growing care home management software product.
 
Captain Damian Roberts - Managing Director, LNT Aviation Ltd
  Awarded a Royal Air Force flying scholarship at the age of seventeen, Damian gained his Private Pilots Licence before studying Aeronautical Engineering and Design at Loughborough University courtesy of British Aerospace. He then served over seventeen years with the Royal Air Force flying helicopters in Northern Ireland and Europe and the C-130 'Hercules' tactical transport aircraft worldwide. As Managing Director of LNT Aviation Ltd, Damian brings this wealth of experience and contacts to every facet of the company's activities, ensuring a high quality, professional service every time you take off.
 
Martyn Paul - Managing Director, Basic Solutions
  Martyn has over 30 years experience in business to business and retail management. He was managing director for Squadron Batteries and marketing director for Exide UK, and divisions of Pirelli and Quinton Hazell. Specialising in Marketing and operations management, he has successfully developed 'set-up' companies attaining rapid growth with a view to selling or gaining external investment.
 
Richard Dean - Managing Director, LNT Automotive
  Joined LNT Group full time in November 2005; Involved in Motorsport since the age of 8… Professional racing driver for 15 years before setting up Team JLR, British based motor sports team. Team JLR won several British Championships over 9 year period, along with driver coaching to young motor sport talents…such as Justin Wilson (Jaguar F1), Dan Wheldon (Indy car Champion), Tom Kimber-Smith (British Ford Champion, Le Mans winner). Successful in securing major sponsorship deals during 23 years experience in the sport. Part of the 2006, LNT Panoz Europe, Le Mans 24 hour winning Team.
