Senior Engine Builder

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Engine Builder.

The successful applicant will be a key asset to our growing team in Garforth, assisting in the three main engine platforms. The successful applicant will provide attention to detail in a variety of disciplines required to take an engine from component level to production line and be assembly ready.

Therefore, this role is ideally suited to an individual with a keen eye for detail, cleanliness and is willing to follow an established process within a team.



Experience;

The successful applicant will have a good understanding and interest in engineering. Evidence of practical skills of engine building are essential, to work on GR and protype engines.

A good level of understanding of an internal combustion engine architecture and how one works is essential.

Computer and common software awareness including folders & filing, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow established safety procedures.
  • Follow established build processes.
  • Keep to an established level of component cleanliness.
  • Maintain a good level of cleanliness within the department.
  • Communicate and resolve quality issues as they arise
  • Monitor and plan ahead for production schedules
  • Ensure stock is correctly logged throughout the system

Person Specification:

  • Attention to detail
  • Diligent and conscientious
  • Organised and methodical
  • Drive for continuous self-improvement
  • Reliable
  • Friendly, polite and professional
  • Able to work on own and as part of a team

GCSE or equivalent in a minimum of 5 subject’s at a grade C or above. Further education would be desirable but we want you to have a keen interest in a motorsport career.

An understanding of the Motorsport would be advantageous although not essentia

Experience;

  • The successful applicant will need to have a good understanding and interest in engineering principals.
  • Evidence of previous engine building is essential.
  • Ability to understand and use measuring and inspection equipment, bore micrometers, dial gauges etc.
  • An in depth level of understanding of an internal combustion engine architecture, motion and function is essential.
  • Computer and common software awareness including folders & filing, Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Some understanding of Engine management systems.

We are looking for a laminator to join our carbon team.

Ginetta has been building British road and race cars since 1958 - but since its purchase by LNT Group in 2005, the company has grown to become one of the most significant players on the global motorsport scene. With racing pedigree throughout the business; Lawrence/Team LNT and Ginetta have raced at Le Mans with Lawrence himself winning the GT2 class at Le Mans 2006 in a Panoz Esperante.

Key responsibilities 

Handle composite materials and follow established safety procedures.

Hand laminate composite components to specifications provided by project engineers.

Prepare components for oven and autoclave processing utilising vacuum bagging practices. 

Preparing tooling patterns and moulds using chemical sealers and release.

Consult and resolve quality issues as they arise, in consultation with project engineers.

Basic requirement’s

Laminating experience preferably in pre-preg but not essential.

Ideally motorsport background but other sectors considered.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawin

  • Ability to develop a web application using a popular framework e.g. Rails, ASP.NET MVC, Spring.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies / practices such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Proficient in writing tests at various levels e.g. unit, integration, functional.
  • Advocate of SOLID principles

Desirable:

  • Experience with Java programming language and Spring framework
  • Practices TDD / BDD
